To try to replace the stocking with silly meaningless straps is in extremely bad taste, downright tacky and misguided.

至 2paarnylons : It is completely insane I mean what has happened to young people? Straps around their legs, pointless!
Besides that, the stocking gives a veil of texture, catches the light, encases feet, has its own way of holding smells and even generate sounds when rubbed together.

please always wear stockings, when u wear a garterbelt ! those attached strings are senseless !
